Release Notes 25 April 2017

Latest news regarding the unique CET and Groups Admin functionality.

On Monday 1 May 2017, Kepler will release a new version of the Dashboard which will include both versions of the Customer Engagement Tracker (CET), an improved Store Comparison, as well as Groups and Users Admin tools.

Due to the complexity and dependence of the Groups and Users Admin tools, we highly recommend going through our comprehensive training before making changes to groups and users. Please click here to schedule a training session on these functions.

Customer Engagement Tracker

The CET consists of two new menu items:

  • CET Store
  • CET Group

These are unique industry disrupting views providing information on store performance across the day and week to date.

CET Store

This provides the store manager with a view of only their store's performance as at the most recent POS update (usually as per the previous full hour i.e 2pm).

Performance information relates to:

  • Sales target for the day and the week
    • Sales target
    • Average Transaction Value (ATV) target
    • Number of Transactions target

The CET compares their sales at that time to the day's target and provides two calculated data types:

  • $ and # transactions to go for the day
  • Percentages of these still to go

The system rates whether that store is On Track or Not On Track based on historical trading patterns.

The causative information is also provided including:

  • The Actual ATV
  • Shopfront conversion % (versus target)
  • Sales Conversion % (versus target)
  • If you are an apparel retailer and have other measures such as fitting room conversions or other
  • If you use Kepler's rostering module then staff to visitor ratios

This causative data, together with the Kepler training allows the Store Manager a level of direction on what to focus on to make target.

It is clear that it is a prerequisite that Kepler receives:

  • POS data at a minimum hourly or even more frequent
  • Sales $ target per store per day
  • Either the target # transactions or ATV per store for the day

Without this we cannot provide CET.

CET Group

This allows retailers to segment stores into groups for Area or Territory Managers and view the same information in a list which highlights stores needing attention or at risk of not meeting target.

Drill downs are then available at store level to enable constructive discussion and direction.

Week To Date

CET views are interchangeable between Daily and Week To Date performance.

CET Groups is available on mobile phones and tablets.

THIS IS, AS FAR AS WE KNOW, THE FIRST TIME RETAILERS CAN COMBINE THREE MEASURES:

  • COMPARE HOURLY PERFORMANCE TO TARGET.
  • INDICATE WHETHER THE STORE IS AT RISK OF NOT MAKING TARGET.
  • PROVIDE INDICATORS OF WHAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION.

Store Comparison

The Store Comparison view can compare any combination of groups and stores across two different date periods. Compare multiple groups and multiple stores across different groups with complete flexibility.

This includes comparing company-wide metrics against those of states, territories, areas or stores. Selectable groups are specified using the Admin tools, detailed in the next section.

Below is an example of a comparison between different levels of country, state, region and store over two date periods.

Groups and Users Admin

These groups will be created by default based on location hierarchy and are fully customisable by a retail admin user.

A group can have one Master Group above it and many Sub Groups below it, and stores are assigned to the lowest level sub groups. For example, Global > Australia > New South Wales > Region > Store Group > Store.

New groups can also be created based on any specification outside of the default hierarchy, such as store size, store type or sales performance. For example, Shopping Centre stores, Underperforming stores and Flagship stores. Stores can be assigned to many different groups as needed:

These groups can be assigned to users so that different users have access to different levels. A user can be assigned multiple groups, and will have access to all subgroups and stores that are under their assigned group(s):

Operating instructions, release notes and training will be available shortly to those retailers with these functions.

Other retailers wishing to discuss this should contact Kepler asap.
