Understanding in-store customer behaviour is really, really hard.
Having had experience in both online and physical retail, I can testify to that. It’s expensive, time consuming and, more often than not, unreliable. But, customer behavioural data is so critical to improving store performance that it has become one of those things that just has to be done.
From that frustration, I devised a new and modern method of measuring shopper behaviour that would be automatic, affordable and immediately useful. That’s how Kepler Analytics came about. With our in-store sensors and simple online dashboard, retail managers can now get immediate feedback on marketing, store location, staffing and visual merchandising strategies.  
Kepler Analytics is made possible through the magic of Wi-Fi technology. Passive scanners in our sensors identify unique smartphone Wi-Fi signatures to determine shopper behaviour within a store. These signals are anonymous and we cannot access any personal information at all which guarantees the privacy of every shopper.
I like to think of Kepler Analytics as a powerful tool that combines the irreplaceable intuition of retail managers with the measurable science of store performance to create the ultimate in-store experience for customers.
Already, we have partnered with several national retail groups to install our sensors in their stores. We are working closely with our retail partners to tap the immense potential of real-time customer behavioural data.
